And They Lived Happily Ever After!!

It's been awhile since we updated everyone on Valentine and her puppies so here is the latest and it's all GOOD!!  (Please refer to our March and April blogs for the complete story of Valentine & her puppies!)

As we mentioned in our last blog, Valentine was heartworm positive when we rescued her so once her puppies were old enough to be on their own it was time for Valentine to undergo her treatment plan to get her healthy. In April and May she underwent treatments for her heartworms. Valentine was such a good patient and came through the process with flying colors!! She will need one more test in September to give her the final all-clear but for now she is free of heartworms!

So what's next for Valentine?

A FOREVER HOME!!

Yes, Valentine has been adopted and by someone who is just as special as she is.  Her new mom is Lori, who works at the Nevada Animal Shelter where we first met Valentine 6 months ago.  Lori fell in love with Valentine and her gentle spirit way back then so she knew she had to adopt her.  And we are so glad she did!!

We just received this update from Lori "Here is Lola (Valentine) relaxing in our backyard. She loves being outside! She is getting along great with our other dog Rhett! We love her!"

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we raised 81% of our goal to help cover the veterinary expenses associated with the delivery of Valentine's puppies, as well as their after care, and Valentine's heartworm treatments.

We are still taking donations because we have to pay the Vet bills...:-)  so if you would like to help out we would greatly appreciate it!!

And what about Valentine's puppies??  They have all been adopted!!!!
