Meet Tootsie & Her Boys!

This sweet looking little dog is Tootsie ...she was abandoned, left in the back yard when her family moved away. Yes, she was just left there to fend for herself.... and she was PREGNANT!!!

Furry Kids' was contacted and asked to help this sweet little girl. Of course, we said YES!!!

We took her to our vet to make sure she and her babies were healthy. And thankfully, they were!  Can you see the 3 little ones in the x-ray??

11/25/13 - Tootsie & her boys

In less than a week after we took her in, Tootsie delivered 3 adorable boys!  

Now we needed names for the puppies!!  Taking the lead from mom's name, Tootsie, we decided to look at the movie Tootsie to come up with the names for the 3 boys. Voilà!..."Dorsey", Tootsie character's last name, "Dabney" for Dabney Coleman, an actor in the movie, and "Dustin", for Dustin Hoffman, the actor that played Tootsie.

At 2 weeks old, the puppies opened their eyes for the first time!

Tootsie's boys are not quite ready for adoption yet so we'll update you on their progress in a few weeks.  Check out the boys at 1 month old....

The boys might not be ready for adoption but Mom is.....
Tootsie has been an awesome mom to her boys, but now they are big enough, she no longer needs to nurse them.  Tootsie is such a sweetheart...she loves all other animals and is always looking for someone to play with her. She loves sitting in your lap getting her belly rubbed or being snuggled up next to you just being close. Tootsie is just a all around awesome little dog and deserves a equally awesome family that will love, cherish, and protect her for the rest of her life...she deserves a FOREVER home!!
